2007 Playwright Discovery Award Recipient Biography

Aliza Goldstein is a 15-year-old junior in the International Baccalaureate program at Stanton College Preparatory School, a public magnet high school in Jacksonville, Florida.  Her two previous plays were selected for performance at Stanton’s annual night of student-written one-act plays. Ms. Goldstein has been actively involved in all aspects of theater from a young age, including writing, acting, costume and technical crew.  She is a member of the International Thespian Society. The concept for her script, Izzy Icarus Fell off the World, came from her volunteer work at Mt. Herman Exceptional Student Center in Jacksonville, a center for students with developmental disabilities.
